Zack and his family were in the Amway business together with his uncle and aunt (Amway is a multi-level-marketing business). We went to conventions together. Zack and I never went to the Sunday services. After all, we were there to make money, not do a church thing. We got talked into going to the service by the up-line.
When I heard a woman named Stephanie Fast speak on being unwanted, rejected and abandoned at the convention in Atlanta, she had my attention. Stephanie told us her amazing story of life and many near-death experiences she had growing up in Korea after the Korean War. All before the age of 10!
Then she told us about a Father that saved her out of her terrible fate. He loved her with an unconditional love. I felt like she was talking directly to me. Then she proceeded to say that I could have this love too! Her Father could also be my Father! That through Jesus Christ, His son, I could have a do-over! I could be born again and have everlasting life!
I had to admit my life was a mess! I was a mess. I had a lot to repent of and ask forgiveness for.
I couldn’t help myself; I went up to pray for this new life to happen so I could have the security, the love, and the assurance I’d always longed for.
I had found what I was looking for! It was Jesus! His Father and the Holy Spirit!
When Stephanie Fast prayed, my whole world changed!
(Side note: Zack made the same commitment to Jesus that day. And we got married one year later and he has become my legendary man in Christ!)
Now, I had a Father that would always be available to me. He would never leave me nor forsake me! His banner over me is love! He welcomed me in with open arms.
My mom told me, when she was 73 years old and I was 43 that my dad didn’t’ want any more children, and then four years later, they had me. That explained several things about my relationship with my dad. The gap was wide and obvious now.
But now I had a Father Who was the One who made me. He planned me, designed me, and has a plan and a purpose for me. He wanted me! And still wants me!
This is what I had been missing in my life! since I gave my life to Him, it has been so amazing. I have gone places and done things I would have never without His leading me.
He wonderfully saved me when I needed Him most.
Jesus says, if you know me, you know my Father. John 14:6-7 I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known My Father also: and from henceforth ye know Him, and have seen Him.
I came across a curious place in scripture: Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be on his shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful,
Counselor,
Mighty God,
EVERLASTING FATHER (emphasis is mine),
Prince of Peace.
God, My Father is all these things through Jesus Christ.
Let’s take a closer look at these names:
Wonderful: which means Marvelous! It’s an almost antiquated word now. You never hear it these days. It means exceedingly incredible!
Do you know anyone on this earth that you would describe as marvelous? Think about it. You might know someone you like or think highly of, but are they marvelous? Really? In person marvelous, exceedingly incredible, and not just in your mind? I know someone Who is Wonderful! Marvelous! Jesus!!!
Counselor: Going to counseling is very popular now. Everyone is freely talking about counseling these days. It’s all-over social media too.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:5
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be intreated (good for persuasion), full of mercy and good fruit without partiality (impartial), and without hypocrisy (unfeigned, not made up). James 3:17-18
And His counsel is free! He is …the way, the truth, and the life. John 14:6.
I have a very personal Counselor!
Mighty God: means powerful! But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons (and daughters) of God, even to them that believe on His name… John 1:12
…with God all things are possible (!) Matthew 19:26c
…greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world (!) 1 John 4:26b
My Heavenly Father is powerful and can fight my battles!
Everlasting FatherEverlasting Father Everlasting Father Everlasting Father means He is the perpetual Dad! He was my Father before I was born. How precious also are Thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! Psalm 139:17.
He is the Alpha, the Beginning, and He will be my Father from now on into all Eternity, He is the Omega. I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8.
Who doesn’t still need at a daddy at any age? I’m so glad to have my Heavenly Father.
I find I need Him so much more now than ever before! He will never leave me nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5, Genesis 28:15, Joshua 1:5).
Prince of Peace, the captain of our peace, of happiness, and welfare. He is someone who will always be there to guide me, lead me, make a way for me. He gives me that peace that passes all understanding.
Thou art my hiding place; Thou shalt preserve me from trouble; Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psalm 32: 7-8
Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall he speak: and He will shew you things to come. John 16:13
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:108
Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7
So, let me introduce you to my Father. He is all you need and more in this life and the next.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, not powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
He’s my Father and nothing can steal, or kill, or destroy our relationship. No one has power over God my Father.
The video is about an hour long. But worth watching! Stephanie's testimony changed my life. God spoke through her to my heart picked me up from the miry clay, cleaned me off and welcomed me into His family that thanksgiving weekend in 1994.
